My name is Cheryl Shannon, but my friends and family call me Cherie. I have been a Graphic Designer for over 12 years now and love what I do. It’s so much more than a job for me. Graphic Design allows me to put my creative skills to use, with a bit of math and science thrown into the mix. I love the challenge of not only putting my own ideas into print, but to take other people’s ideas and create something they love. Entrusting me to create a beautiful piece for anyone is a huge honor and I take my work very seriously. It’s a true bonus when you can have fun while being serious, too!
I started my career working for a company that made CD and DVDs. It was such a fun job, working with local bands, local movie directors and local publishers. The experience was rewarding and helped me grow not only in skill but in networking. Sadly with the economic downfall, the company closed their doors after working with them for over eight years.
I was one of the lucky ones to find full time work again shortly after the company closing, and started working with an envelope manufacturer in the art/prepress department. Although it's certainly not as exciting as my last job, it not only pays the bills but has given me an extensive background in print. These skills have allowed me to apply my knowledge to my own personal shop, Crow Hop Party Shop, where form and function come together to offer you high quality design and print results. I also have another shop on Etsy, Tee Hawk Designs, where I make and sell handmade gifts such as hot and cold therapy microwave corn pillows and bottle cap jewelry.
My ultimate goal is to create a successful business here and one day work for myself. Working from home, spending more time with family...now that is my American dream!
